its a crying shame as this was part of the "ford scene" calendar a while back and was well worth going to,but as everyone has already said internet has killed it.

i stayed at home, dismantled my garage at home and bought a recovery truck!!
that was the same thin that happened at ford fair when it was held at rockingham so it's not a new thing

I went for the first time 2 years ago a nd it was MUCH busier then, was a good day imo.

The weather must have kept a lot of people away today to be honest but even so, there was a hell of a lot of tat for sale today.

Even so, it was something to do on a sunday so its not all bad.

Well i have to say,if you own a mk1/2 escort, this is the show for you.
I spent about £200 at the show,consisting of;
£10 entry fee
£2.80 Bottle of stella
£40 mk2 rs2000 strut top strenghtening plates
£10 rs2000 door mirror gasket
£10 fookin huge rs500/xr4i model
£120 rebuilt mk2 escort front struts with lowering srings,2.8i vented discs, rear spax adjustables.(big up escort tec).
Otherwise a pretty average show.
Like most shows, most of the trade parts where pre 1980/mk1/2 escort based.
And if anyone pays the sort of money asked for piss wrapped interior parts that they have to stand in a fookin huge puddle to buy they want shooting on the spot.
£120 for soggy mk1 rolltops!?
I don't think so!
Big up once again for escort tec,and the sound advice given, and the willingness to barter for a good deal!

As BRIGSPORT said above,if you have a MK1/2 ESCORT then this show is for you.NEW PANELS,INTERIORS,WHEELS.

I only go to these ford spares days to buy a gerbal in a plastic ball and a model alien made out of old nuts and bolts but i couldn,t find any anywhere.Oh well will try e-bay.

P.S. I only paid £10 to get in and so did every one in front of me.

which "traders" were there then? There always seems to be a few come out of the woodwork come showtime, and you never hear hide nor hair of them inbetween ....

I think they must be away from the real world as some of the prices they put on things are a joke

Wil

95% of the traders there and at most shows now are part time / bedroom traders that only have the chance to sell at shows as they dont / cant advertise in mags etc , because they arnt registered as a business,

I have noticed tho that less and less real traders bother now so the bedroom traders prices are slowly creeping up and up as they sold at well below real traders prices in the past 1, to make us look expensive so people bought from them , 2, because they can as they have no overheads compared with the real traders , now the real traders arnt bothering they can lift there prices as there is nobody else there to buy from so they can get away with charging a little more

Soon it will be hard to get anyone to bother trading at shows and thats a real shame as its an opotunity to have a bit of a haggle and to see what your buying , also there is no postage to pay

I remeber before i even started to trade when you went to a show the trade stands were so busy you couldnt get near them and people were buying stuff as it was pulled out of the van The good old days before the world turned lazy and wanted to buy everything while sat on the bums at home

Like I said all along, when you are paying £10 plus to get into a show that takes less than 20 minutes to get round... its a rip off. There's been nowt new there for years.

The best value for money show going in my opinion is Ford Fair, at least there's plenty going on and plenty to see.

i don't know what's sadder, the bloke with all his stuff in the pic or you for taking it

it's not just donny that's got shit, i've noticed it started to creep in a few years ago at the likes of enfield and uxbridge where you had miles and miles of autojumble to sift through but the end stalls were seling china cutlery and wax bullshit rather than car stuff

the whole point of these shows is for car bods to wander about looking for obscure car parts, not wander about as if it's just another car boot on a sunday in a field

We were going to go, then I woke up, looked out of the window at the slinging down rain and got back under the quilt, reading this, I'm glad I did.
