Just got back from probably the worst 'spares' day in my life!

I travelled up there which cost £30 in fuel, then had to pay £25 to get in (me and missus)

It was raining and the stuff for sale was utter toilet! Walked round looking for a few bits, none of which i could find.

Never going again. What a waste of time, money and effort.

If you want some rusty second hand mk 2 Granada headlamps that seem to be on display every year you go to these Ford part days,then your quids in...BUT...if you are looking form some new rare RS parts then you best stay at home
Ebay pretty much killed off the chances of finding decent new RS parts at spares day,and you can't blame the traders etc when you can get such good profits from Ebay.

ive just got back too, show was utter crap! it seems all you need to do to get your car classed as a 'show' car is join some crappy club...hence the array of shit mondeo's and sierra's on show! there was better car's in the carpark! NEVER GOING AGAIN!!!

went as it's only up the road for me, such a shame that 90% of the cars on show are just shite, some of them motors were worse than my daily driver!

found a new carb for my kit car though at a good price too so was worth it for me but i'd never go if it involved more than 10 minutes driving!

Its been going downhill 5 years or more, it wasn't so bad paying £7 or so coz at least you could treat it as a chance to catch up with mates etc as a social thing, somebodys shooting themselves in the foot

worth the effort and time for me as i picked up all my gaskets etc for the 500 from Matt Lewis ( cheers mate )
Also got some new nice bits from Rally design for the mk2

and best of all i met Dannyboy699 from on here who slagged me of on the other spares day post and quess what ,,,,,,,,,,,,yes he pretended it wasnt him and then when i said there was a picture of him posted on the net he said it wasnt him that posted it and he new nothing about this so called fucked turbo i sold somone he new

but slating traders and to many peeps breaking their own cars and expecting the things you want for your car to cost you fook all has been the demize of the shows added to ebay ,piston heads etc.
we all have are selves to blame
it only costs you £25 to get in ,the last time i went my stall cost me £400

we all slate the shows but the facts are ther are no shows with out traders

the day of internet shows were you post pics of your car ,and some one judges it and the traders have internet shops are drawing ever near
it is a sad day for me i personally like going the shows and have met a lot of freinds threw them ,end of the day its not always about money

Sure I said in the original thread to stay in bed and poke the mrs instead ... By the time you have spent £20 on fuel, then £25 to get in, you have lost any decent saving you have made by going to the show

a pal of mine took a fiesta rs turbo van down to see if we could sell it.dont know if we did....

i had a stall there once about 2 year ago-did quite well but all the decent stuff was bought up by the other traders an hour before the gates open for general admission.

its a crying shame as this was part of the "ford scene" calendar a while back and was well worth going to,but as everyone has already said internet has killed it.

i stayed at home,dismantled my garage at home and bought a recovery truck!!
