Default Calling all the bufties

Whats the best way to refurbish hub carriers? Blast then paint them? If so what kind of paint?

blast and paint.

Anything ill do pretty much as they don't get very hot.

i had mine on my rst sandblasted and powdercoated.

removed all the bearing etc, stripped it bare, covered the inside whil eit was blasted, then when powder coating time came, smother the inside with grease, and then scrape all that crap off after

on my hub carriers i had them blasted but i always leave the old bearings in so it doesnt damage the inside where the new bearings need to go

then just clean them all out, paint and put new bearings in

Thanks

Poor car has sat in a cow shed since last November

Bought a new house with a double garage to keep the Cos in and I can't afford to do the work on it or run it thanks to our wank country

Got the Cosworth blues at the minute have been thinking of selling/breaking it

Goin to view a Mk2 Mex tomoz,see how I feel after looking at that

Where do people get things sandblasted and powder coated, and what sor of prices do these things range from cos i wouldnt mind getting a few bits done but i dont have a clue where to start?

what parts dont you want blasting??? it only gets the shit off, doesnt damage anything

i just clearly state what not to blast, but if the guy who is doing it has any sense he will know what to mask and blast.

defo get blasted with bearings still in my new bearings never fitted as tight after the blasting. so got new ones
