Any one know anything bout mr2 turbo's?!
My mate was crusing along the motorway the other day, when he heard a funny noise looked in his mirrior and saw smoke pulled over and open the bonnet to find this:
One of the things that hold the cam down, cant remember there name!! has snaped the bolts and shot out the top, never seen this before, what would cause this?
Oh yeah if still runs, just fire's out oil

Cam Bearing cap bolts have snapped due to fatigue or overtightening, the cap has then fallen sideways onto the cam lobe and been forced out through the cam cover.
Could just need new bolts/studs and cap and top cover.
But might need new cam as well.

It had a rebuild bout 3years ago, i was thicking the bolits may have not been tight enough and over the years has worked it self loose then could take no more and call it a day! put anice dent in the hood aswell
Any one know if a 2.0 n/a head would be the same as a 2.0 turbo head?!
Or shall i go ask on a mr2 site?
