I know I know it's my own fault.

Was coming through Stevenage on a dual carriageway section with a 40mph limit (no junctions or footway nearby). Didn't see the scamera van and think I was doing nearer 60mph.

Looks like I'll be trying out the section 2 of PACE.

I'm kicking myself as I know they do speedchecks there so should have known better.

I'm actually really upset as I never ever speed and never have as I beleive all the adverts on the telly about mowing down an inocent child playing on the fast lane of the M25

It's like the one and only time I have ever got done for speeding - 7am on the M1 on a Sunday morning Only about 4 cars on the bastard thing - me, the police (who must have been hiding under a bridge or something as I never saw em ), and Audi S4 and some other random car.... I was running a tad quick admittedly (saw 110 on my speedo ) but the S4 behind me was doing a good 20-30mph faster than me, and I had to nail it to get in front of the car I was alongside (aforementioned random car) to let this Audi past, who was probably doing 140 when he passed me...

But guess who the old bill tugged? Me Guess their Mondeo wouldn't have caught the Audi if he really put his foot down

Luckily for me, they only had average speed laser in their car, and with me pulling in and slowing a little dropped the average speed to 94.6mph - copper told me if it had been 95 I'd have been on a ban So Ł60 fine and three points, and a small lecture I was on my way again

My missus got done for a 32 in a 30 a few years back,was during their "zero tolerance" campaign.

Don't get me wrong if the road had been residential I wouldn't be so annoyed but this is dual carriageway with no junctions and no fotway alongside. The only reason for putting a camera van there is too make money. You couldn't crash on it if you tried

I saw them down there today......

and I saw a guy cream a TVR Griffith 500 down there about 6 years ago on a sunday evening in summer...... I was 1st on scene and he was cut in half and the car was spread across the entire road.... not a pretty sight when you are your way to pick up a takeaway!!!!

well not as bad as when i was PROVING the transits can do 110mph,,,,,,, using my camera phone when I was the only one in the van
