difference between x box 360 and elite
I'm looking at buying a 360 with the wireless etc but just wondered what the crack was with the elite,is it worth the extra money?

essentially they are the same, if you just want it for online gaming, go for the cheaper one as you can always get a larger hard drive at a later date if needed. I only had the Elite cus its black and matched the rest of my TV/Audio equipment

i'll have a look, see my sister getts 20% off at hmv with her being a scruffy student so i might just get the elite if i get good discount. I was just wondering if the elite was far superior to the normal really

I've got a 360 and i'm definatly going to get an elite
A mate had his 360 and elite running side by side on a full hd 42" lcd and there was a difference between the graphic's

just got myself a 360 with an HDMI port! Mine was freezing up every now and then, spoke to the place I bought it from and they exchanged it over with no fuss for a brand new one that has the HDMI port!

How can the Elite have better graphics!?
AFAIK all premium's now have HDMI output for 1080p so I am confused by your reply? A larger hard drive is not going to gain you better graphics. Personally for the sake of having a black one I don't think they're worth it at all.
I am running a Premium with HDMI on a 50" 1080p plasma and it's tons better than my neighbours Elite on his 46" Sony LCD and it's not just because I have a better screen.

I think he must have meant better due to the HDMI cable being used rather than the component cable
The newer 360s being released now have revised motherboards, graphics cards and processors in them (same output) but have all been modified to keep the heat down inside
Also my mate is running his on 1080p through the component cable, it comes up with it on the screen when he turns the 360 on

Your right Wazzzer, if he ment it was better due to the HDMI then fair play but as previously mentioned all premiums are now being stocked with HDMI as standard with revised cooling etc.
Also in MOST cases you can only get 1080i with component however there are a small community of screens out there that are supposed to run full 1080p through component. I've heard that some Samsung's can do this? How true it is....is another story.

The only difference in current Premium's and Elite's are the extra Hard Drive space (100GB extra on the Elite). You can buy the 120GB Hard Drives for Ł130.00 iirc, so its worth buying the Elite for the extra Ł20 imo.
All current XB360's come with HDMI and they have released an "Arcade" console to replace the "Core" console if anyone cares lol

What is the point of the hard drive though?
i know it saves games and demos etc but i don't think i've ever used more than 2 to 5 gig of it?

Downloading off XBOX Live. Some people download loads of games, demo's, videos, etc and some people even store music on it apparently. So for some people it can be used. I still have 13gig on my 20gb HD
BUT for Ł20 extra for 100Gig extra I would of brought it, if they were released when I brought mine!

Just got an Elite from Comet on Sunday. Elite + extra controller + PGR4 + Forza 2 for Ł369. I bought a new TV aswell to go with it. Would of been daft not too. All I can say is with the HDMI cable, WOW

If you want to watch programs for free just download them to your PC as normal then get yourself a program called TVersity.
It streams and converts any video format to your 360 so you can watch it there (the 360 will only play WMV files normally)
Winamp Remote also does it but I've noticed a bit of lag with the conversion, might just be my PC speed though

But thats the point most pc's have a bigger hard drive than the 360's so i keep all films on the pc
