Maybe all he meant was that he saw 8200 as max revs and it was holding 2.4 bar at some points of the rev range...not necessarly together tho..
The revs sound good anyway as that is what destroys engines, not boost.

This was not for a magazine feature, the mag feature was for the Sierra.. I was simply there getting the boost map sorted and checking the fueling, contrary to popular beliefs the only reason that this had not been done earlier was because its too dangerous on the road and going to brunters takes a day out of my week and I have been far too busy for that .
We were going to see what the top speed was but sadly it was getting dark by the time we were ready.. So I tried running with nearly no light and found that Escort headlamps are shite I simply did not know where the end of the run way was So after braking stupidly early we only saw 190 mph this was on 1.9 bar and no spoilers removed after this we were informed that the car had tripped the noise meter and this meant game over having said that it was too dark anyway..
The 2.4 bar figure quoted was during mapping we had to go there and see But was held flat all the way through 5th gear and most of 6th... It won't be used at that much though as it goes well enough a 2 bar.
I hope there's enough there for to all argue about
Happy with my engine, oh yes

My car won't go any faster than 180mph now with the 3.9 diffs on it, and that's at 8000rpm.

I think its a fucking stupid hobby really, Im very interested it in from a technical point of view, but I think you guys should have all just standardised at a 1 mile distance to do your runs over and then no one needs to take so many risks with their lives, and it would still prove who's car does what!

The stat I find most amazing about Rods car is the half mile speed, 180mph!

fook thats going some. Have you got any data for intermediate distances and speeds youre willing to share martin? Holding that much boost that high up certainly proves the naysayers wrong on that front! Did you ever get a definitiv answer on what caused the blowout, or was it just plain old bad luck?

You cant make a good omlet without cracking a few Eggs its all Natural Progression, Martin you said Maybe it does but I do find myself asking why am I bothering given the potential dangers for such little gain. its because that’s what you do, why are you building the Mondeo back up? why do you hold the record for the Caravan tow
Its Progression and evolution if people the world over thought fuck that its to dangerous we would still be living in Caves
Human nature no one Falses anyone to do anything its all our own choices

Im only talking about when running at places like brunters, it should be a fixed distance not whoever is stupid enough to break latest.
I agree with you on the reasons why it wont ever happen, but the "eggs" that are going to be broken, IMHO is someone (probably from this forum) will die at brunters.
