Default ebay experts needed here please

saw soething on ebay that i wanted
read the description
bought somethng last friday with a buy it now
reread the description and though "oh shit, that's not what i wanted"
contacted seller through ebay to explain and said "look, my mistake, i'll pay the relisting fees etc as it's not what i wanted" etc etc
waited
setn aother one on saturday
waited
sent a email via the contact page when he sent me an email requesting payment
yesterday. nothing
today, nothing
what can i do?

other than wait for him to reply to either message or the email that it stats he wishes to be contacted via?
can't afford to waste money on something i don't want, but at the same time, don't want to leave the guy out of pocket either

how did you send payment? As you say you bought it? or have you not paid yet?

Also do you have a link or can you explain was it blantantly your fault?

if you don't pay in 7 days he can issue unpaid reminder, then after you reply, or after a further 7 days he can issue a strike. Unless you have had these before then i'd just take a strike ( you need 3 to get banned then you can reopen your account after sending a letter saying sorry). If might not even sleave neg feedback as your bound to give him it back. i never leave a neg i just do unpaid dispute. Whats yourr feedback score like at the mo?

Also you can pull his contact info up if you want to call him? heres the link http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQtZvbQQsofindtypeZ9

it's an electric mirror for a mondeo, and i read it as an electric folding mirror
my mistake totaly and as soon as i read it and realised i wrote to him to explain the situation

i clicked the "by it now" button so i bought it simple, but i have yet to pay for it as it's still payment pending

i know, i should have been a little more careful but if the seller isn't repliying to my emails how long do i have to wait before things start to escelate? i don't want to cause any trouble, i just want to stop it from happening

if he don't reply he can open a dispute in 7 days. He could closed it without causing you a strike and he will recover his fees and be able to relist for no extra charge, but thats up to him. Try calling him you might catch him and he may agree to end the sale if he aitn expecting you to call.

i've already admited it's my fault, what else can i do?

i don't want to dispute the fact that i've made a mistake but how long do you need to go before you have to do soemthng is what i'm asking, if he'd said the next day "sorry pal, you've bought it you pay for it" then fair enough, i'd try and work soemthing out with the guy, but if he's left it for 5 days now and still not a dicky bird what is a person to do?

if i start emailing him left right and centre then i could be seen to be harrasing him, but if i leave it lingering then he can say i didn't try hard enough to contact him

If he is any sort of reasonable person he will accept that you bought it in error and your offer to pay his relisting fees is fair. He has nothing to gain by pursuing you for payment.

On the other hand if he so choses, the worse he can do is give you an unpaid item strike, but that is no means certain if you put give Ebay all the facts when asked. This sort of thing happens all the time and as a trader you shrug it off and carry on because you it is not worth the effort trying to enforce payment.
