Is it possible for mods to read users pm's?

ahh yeah, i guess its not possible without the user knowing something is going on then, i mean you could change the password as you say, but you couldnt change it back because you wouldnt know what it was.

i dout a site this big would be "modified" so one mod could gain access to a users pm's christ they would have to be desperate

Admin = Runs the site, has its own Control panel (CP), is in charge of chages, can see anyone's PM's etc


Moderator = just keeps an eye on the site, can only ban people, edit posts, can make posts 'sticky' etc, delete them, edit anyones replys's etc

on a standard phpbb install there is no built in facility in admin to read pm's (even for admins)

there will be addons or you could look at the database directly if you wanted to snoop (only admins not mods)

Not read all this, but no unless its been modified, however on most forums they can see emails sent out by users to other users via the forum if that makes sense, i.e if you press the email button on someone profile and email through the site
