All my letters of resignation have been very polite and designed to be as neutral as possible - i.e not stating reasons for leaving, personal opinions etc.

Never know when you might need that bridge after all

Fingers crossed it all works out for you mate

I've just started a new job with much nicer people, better hours, fresh challenges and a 'time served apprentice' pay rise

neil is true about the "industry"

i work in the car game and its VERY small !!!

when i worked at volvo i had a fall out with the big boss,,, but my old boss at ford wanted me to go back,,,, when i had the main boss telling me " if you cant handle the presure son,, fuck off" i was about to get the hump and get moody

instead i gave him back the keys to my car aswell as shop keys and said "ok"

my mates car was booked in for a MOT the following day too,, i turned up, was offered more cash but i refused as the main boss was a prick

months later i DEAL with the prick, he now works as a manager for some mitsubishi dealers in putney,,,, was GREAT when i send back hes warranty claim being refused

everyone knows everyone in this game though, most know my old boss which was the reason i got this job im at now

yeah be polite and never hold a grudge, lifes too short

Ginge, the job I'm going to now (and I am going ), is a far better carrear move with better prospects and the promise of consistent salary increases, along with it being a very good company to work for, and a very good oppourtunity in itself.

When they offer me more money, I shall ask them why they did not do it the first time round, and pollitely tell them I ahve made my mind up

Get that in writing, with fixed terms and some sort of evaluation / training plan next to it, if it isn't written down it's not worth their word.

And i can speak of it

December 3rd I've got 2 weeks off in between the jobs too which is nice, as I've only had 1 week off this year I hope you're enjoying your new job

It's just a good company to work for mate, much better than where I am in that respect and you can easily work your way up

The trouble is, I'm actually quite good mates with my direct boss, so that wouldn't go down too well!

in resignation letters i only say "i am giving you a months notice of terminating my employment, my final date will be XX/XX/XX" even if i am leaving under very bad atmosphere

i explain the reasons verbally, no point putting it down in black and white cos you dont know who is gonna read it.

with 99% of bosses and workplaces no matter what you say you will never change their attitude and bad habits.
