Default Detailing supplies

Probably should be in Concours section but it's abit quiet in there ..

Just after some recommendations, probably online but real shops also welcomed, on where to get wash mits, drying towels, clay, polish and wax etc.

My only local place is Halfrauds and their range was not that great..

I have a new car and want to make sure I look after it properly.

cheers

Martyn

I've bought from all these places. The guys are all friendly too so if you have a question (i.e. is this wax right for my colour car? etc) they're happy to help out.. and no they don't always direct you to the most expensive stuff!!! lol

Sites like Polished Bliss etc have some really handy guides and explanations of whats what (the differences between glazes, polishes, waxes etc) so that helped me out quite a bit too

http://www.detailedobsession.com/catalog/

http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/index.php

http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/

http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/Products.html

This is also a cracking website with other suppliers etc on there. Amazing threads I could read all day, tips, hints & help

I will probably speak to someone off one of those sites and get some advice. I want to clean, clay, then polish and wax my new car before winter sets in..

if it hasn't already

unless your offering a free demo on my car that is

seriously though any advice greatfully rec'd.

I've been a single bucket and sponge man ever since I had a car. Looking at detailing world has really opened my eyes. wont be going too bufty though

i tried that bufty approach the other week for the first time on my touring. i tried using meguiers clay bar and was completely underwhelmed by the difference it made. maybe i didnt do it long enough but it didnt seem to make much off a difference.

and what does he get for Ł300? cant just say a price and not tell him what he gets...

i charge Ł20 an hour for correction work, and a full quote is given on size of car and levels of correction required. BUT he doesnt say whether he wants defect correction..... clean, clay, polish, wax sounds like hand polsihing and not machine... and a pro would not charge anywhere near Ł300 for a hand polish... i charge approx Ł50-70 depending on car size...

not a dig, just you werent very clear...

oh and i reccomend polished bliss, clean and shiny, and clean your car.co.uk

im also on detailingworld, username craigo

craigo

I have been onto detailing world, not signed up yet but I will.

Car is an 05 ST220 estate, ink (dark) blue, so I would hope not too much correction but I imagine a pro might think different
