How vague can you get id say there was a few "crazy things" to see and do in jap land yeah i got a mate who moved there a few years ago............... still there now and he loves it, he keeps asking me to visit but funds havent allowed yet what with more important things to spend my cash on but in a year or two ill go there

Biglee what do you do mate? Is it hard to work out how to get around etc?

Heared not to get Taxis as its mega expensive... DO you know if Toyota HQ is in Tokyo as heard that is crazy and a must see for car enthuastis

im an audio engineer for touring bands... it is easy to get around as most of the signs in the major citys are in english as well, your hotel will have a detailed map of where ever you want to go and will no a good cheap taxi comapny to get you there, their train system is amazing tho and easy to use, the bullet train is a must tho if your going tokyo-osaka ect.. it passes nagoya, thats worth a stop of course, and the enthusiast scene is amazing mate, HQ for most things are in tokyo, in fact on the way from narita airport to the center of tokyo you will pass at least nissan,yamaha,toyota,kawasaki HQ... all of them are more than willing to show you around if you ask nicely, as your western you will get anything you want... most japanese people speak some english so its allways easy if you get lost, taxis acan be a pain if you get the wrong guy he may take you the long route and cost you more but in general they are pretty good... oh and then there is earthquakes, you will experiance at least one if your there for more than a week, only a smallone probably but it will shit the life out of you.. ive experanced 4 and all of them frightened the life out of me.. the car and bike scence is masive and i mean masive, and whats more is any of the top boys will take you out in their supercars or 800hp skylines if you ask.. if you find the underground racing scene you will love it.. every time i go i meet a few friends who look after me where this is concerened, its not all mafia based raceing its just alot of people with serious cars having fun and the plod dont even bother them.. if you want i will put you in touch with a guy i know very well who will take you to where you want to be and also will show you the real petrol driven japan.. oh yea i love it i can wait to go back in dec, the only and i mean only drag is the 12 hour flight out there and back... good luk.. pm me if you want anymore info matey

Never been but I know three things;

1) It's a LONG ASS flight

2) It's MEGA busy (people EVERYWHERE!!!!)

3) They have some WEIRD food!!!

Nah, friend of mine has been a couple times, loved it, but said the above three things to me when he got back the first time

He also said, when we were watching TV one time and an advert came on where a guy had put pictures onto his phone of simple things like a toilet, a bank, a resturante, a train, etc, that this is actually a very sinsible thing to do if you don't speak any Japanese, and intend to walk around the place by yourself a fair bit (ie, not with a tour or anything), and the second he went he did the same thing and found it was very easy to show the picture on his phone to a random person in the street and they would just point where it was!
