Turbocharged cars generally have a rising rate fuel pressure regulator - the higher the boost pressure the higher the fuel pressure upto a set maximum

Some dizzy's have a diaphram in them to allow retard on boost.

I dont know off had on that will direct fit an E30

Failing that, you can get a delay box to retard it for you, it just takes the pulse and waits a while before passing it on essentially.

As chip, dont know if still available but years ago turbo technics had a diaphragm type vacuum two way advance unit that advanced under vacuum and retarded the ignition when on boost, when i did a escort cvh in 93, for some reason had to use a bosch type dizzy and the advance linkcage rod had to be cut to give the required amount of ignition retard. i think the old audi's and saab had this advance unit. i was on the limit of det @ 12psi.

The dissy boost retard capsule is off early turbo Saab's. i convert them to fit other dissy's, abit like TT used to.

But you can run a Micro Dynamic's EMs 5 or 6, to retard once boosting, and the 5 is adjustable to how much retard, @ what rpm, and also allows for the timing to be re advances after the det threshold has passed.

MSD do a boost timing control unit, it automatically retards a preset amount of timing per pound of boost IIRC.

it was called a boost timing master
