you wont go wrong with snap on mate, really is the best. i've bought about 7 grands worth of the stuff and can honestly cay have had no real issues with it.

having problems witha 3/8 ratchet with an adjsutable handle, the paul keeps snapping on the ratchet mechanism but apparently its a common thing and it geting sorted.

My humble box!

As you can see, I don't actually use a lot of Snap On tools - lots of mixed stuff in there from Halfords Pro, to Facom, Knipex, Laser, Draper, etc etc...

I find most of Snap On's price too much to swallow to be honest. I know their tools are good, but I think others are almost or just as good, but with substantially lighter price tags... Like Halfords stuff - I have never had a problem with a Halfords ratchet or sockets! 3/8 drive Halfords Ratchet, bout £50 - snap on one, triple that

halfords stuff is fucking horrible to hold, to skinny digs into your hands. snap on stuff is good to hold and dosent round or chew bolts or screws as easy i've found.

if you want to be the best then work with the best IMO

Sorry, I disagree. My Halfords ratchet is nigh on, if not exactly the same dimensions as the snap on ratchet my work collegue owns. It feels identical in my hands, often picking his up and not noticing. The only thing that gives it away is the weight - his Snap On one is lighter than mine...

Mine is mainly Signet stuff, with some Halfords pro chucked in for bits I have had to go out and buy. My signet stuff has lasted 5 years now, and had some serious abuse. None of its broken.
My box is a cheapo thing (cant recall the name, the badge has long gone) which came full of sealy tools, they are near enough all broke now, just some screwdrivers and prybars left
Only snap on I have is a 13mm spanner out a car I broke and I do use snap on gloves, they are the best imho.
I do need a decent screwdriver setup thou.

Snap-on, britool and halford is what I use, and again like others have said your only really paying for the lifetime warranty... my halfords stuff is the nicest to work with tbh and I don't have to worry about invalidating the warranty because I smack it with a hammer

I have got a decent amount of Halfords proffesional stuff, never had a problem, great quality, lifetime warranty, broke a few bits through major abuse, had them replaced no questions asked - looking at buying the rollcab and top box for xmas

Personally I think the snap-on myth is a bit over-played, nothing really that much better worth paying 4 times the going rate for a tool for

Have to get Stu@MSD to post his tool kit up , you could house a small army in the rollcab alone

Here,s mine.Retail at £2700 from SNAP-ON

Got mine secondhand in excellent condition for £600.

They go for £1200 on E-BAY.

I have 70% SNAP-ON tools and a few MAC,BRITTOL and HALFORDS.

Only buy SNAP-ON stuff if i use it all the time.

For home use HALFORD PROFFESIONAL is cheap enough.

But as tools go SNAP-ON are not as good as the name.
Have had loads of SNAP-ON tools brake, but replced or fixed with no problems.

have a look here

www.lista.co.uk

i work for the company as a fitter, and our tool boxes, work stations are used by the likes of Mclaren, Honda F1, Red Bull racing, m Sport, Scuderia ecosse, as well as all sorts of different industries.

Can do various heights, widths, depths, 1 draw to 30, draw partitioning, although the top box isnt an option with ours. but can have wooden tops, anti slip tops,

the only thing we dont do are the tools,
