Default 53 in a 30

Just had a leeter through been caught doing 53 in a 30. Im really careful in the 30 zones so I don't think this was marked clearly, what am I likely to get, Im hoping 3points and £60 fine.

It wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't marked properly.

Theres a road off Winnersh Showcase roundabout leading up to The Moat House Hotel and the sneaky fuckers have moved the national speed limit sign about 300ft further down. Just after you get to the newly placed sign a speed camera van in yellow sits there after the slight bend taking nice pictures of you

Thats just wrong. I agree they should be in certain places but to move them for little or no reason is very devious and proves the point, that safety second, revenue first

What's a 'leeter'?

Probs just get 3 points mate! Go and have a look and see if the place is marked up? Or do they not tell you where you got caught?

Caught on Old Bisley Road, Frimley, I think I must have got the road confused with one further up as the speed limit changes further up. There are definatly no fixed cameras along there as my mate cycles along there every day and he was with me, don't recall a van either so it may have been a handheld gun??

it used to be the case that if you were 21mph over the given speed limit, 51 in a 30, 61 in a 40 etc that it was a court visit rather than a fixed penalty. iirc the points could then be between 4 and 6 with a higher fine.
in my case several years ago lots of appologetic pleading with the judge left me with the same 3 points but a higher £100 fine.
dont know how it works these days as im a leason learned non speeder* with no points

honestly

File the letter in the bin - they have to get it to you within 14 days of any alleged offence, and technically you haven't received it if you bin it

Incorrect! Technically as long as they have sent it to you within 14 days they can't be held responsible if it gets 'lost in the post' They will still chase it up regardless. They must receive 1000s and 1000s of the lame excuses... 'I never got it'. That just doesn't wash anymore.
