Any air leak on a MFi rs turbo will make the engine die. Possible the ISCV as said above.

HI is this with the engine warmed up to operating temp, if so check the auxiliary air device, does similar job as cars with iscv,(idle speed control valve) the valve should be open witht the engine cold, if you dont know what it is or how to check it, get someone who does should be about 10,mins work to check but longer to change the valve.

The auxiliary air valve is under @ the back of the inlet manifold, it has 2,plastic pipes conected to it one in and one out , here is a scan picture.
The info is for s1, but similar pins on s2 relay, you can for now try turning the idle speed down by using the idle screw by the throttle switch.
if you need a auxiliary air device valve i have plenty.

Regards DAVE R

right this morning i had a look in a bit more detail what actually happens. when i fire the car up the engine sets itself at 1100rpm as it should, it then gradually rises over about a minute to 1900rpm but then stays there. if i start the car and rev the engine as i fire it up the revs then reset to 1900rpm almost straight away. its like once i rev past 1900rpm the idle then settles at this??
