Default T5R and T5 VOLVO 850?

How can you tell a 850 T5R from a T5?

not just bumpers and wheels cause these are just interchangeable parts, i mean if i was going to buy a T5R what shall i look for to tell its a genuine R?

The T5-R had 250 bhp and lots more torque than the normal 225bhp T5 model, R also has slightly different suspension and half leather and half suede interior. Also autos had 240 bhp and less torque. As said above really, if you want to know more visit www.t5d5.org and all will be answered.

Only the later ones were AWD, most are FWD still.

Thats the only thing with it being fwd, it just spins up and its hard to get the power down on the road. If i floor mine in 3rd when its damp it just spins which ain`t good.

The 850 T5-R is 240 bhp and 330 Nm whether it is the 4 speed automatic or 5 speed manual it is the only 850 which was available from the factory in Cream Yellow. It was also available in black and olive green, T5 is 225 bhp and 300 Nm. The last of the R series 850's was known as the 850 R and found a power increase to 250 bhp in manual form and is the only 850 to feature an LSD as standard, the 850 R auto still being 240 bhp. The 850 T5-R and later 850 R come from the factory with part leather part alcantara leather and are the only models to feature this style of interior. The R series 850's are also about 30 mm lower than the equivalent T5 from the factory. An ECU re-map from the likes of RICA (volvo tuning specialist) can see 310bhp 430Nm on the manual variants and 304bhp and 430 Nm for the Auto's. Not bad for just an off the shelf re-map!

and the reason I know all this?? Because I was going down the same road as you and have just bought an 850R very nice car to drive and surprisingly quick as well

V70's handle like shopping trollies!!

I think the easiest way to differentiate a T5 and a T5-R/850R is the wheels and the front splitter! Don't need to rolling road them and stuff then!!

Not many 850 owners create replicas!

I have a standardish T5 auto and its never let me down. I bought it to tow my jetski and wanted the 850R but was influenced by my wife's no claim bonus and (more importantly-as its her car) her opinion!

Didn't let me down on the track, although it had lethal understeer at Rockingham!!
