Default ZVH Question

Hi. I have a 1.8 ZVHT engine in a Fiesta. It is an Escort block from 2001(ish). My question is does anyone know if the block can be bored out to larger CC, & if so, how much? I am thinking of getting some forged pistons so figure I may as well increase the CC at same time if possible. Thanks for any help.

the 2.0l zetec block from a mondeo is just a bored out 1800

the most common size to get bored out is 86mm (2045cc) or 2.1 in laymans terms

Cheers for that, was hoping that was the case!
Don't really wanna swap block cuz already done stuff like the water pump plate etc & had the block helicoiled. Plus it was brand new when I got it.
Thanks for the help

You've obviously never actually looked at both blocks.......

They're completely different.

I wouldn't be boring a 1.8 block out to 86mm, there's a reason the 2L block is different.

Following on a bit, as it looks like I'll have to stick with 1.8....is it worth going for forged pistons (& possibly rods)? It got 222BHP at 14psi when last set up. It's a T3 hybrid turbo. Cheers
