Default are 1800 and 2.0 zetec heads the same (i know cams are diff)

i have an 1800 head and was going to use bar head on a 2.1 zt but have been told the compression areas are different, is this true? cheers

not by much tho, the only diff i know of is that there is an extra bit of metal around the exhaust valves i think it was.

wont make much diff to use tbh

this is a 2.0l head



and the bit between the 2 ex valves has a raised bit of metal

People fit the 1.8 head to the 2.0lt to raise the compression!!

i bet its pretty much fook all difference tho

i had to machine 1mm off my pistons to drop the cr from 8.7:1 to 7.8:1

the ammount of extra metal in the 1.8 head is tiny

Would also think it would depend on if you are talking about silver or black tops too.

Ian Howell is the best person to speak to about head differences, i'm sure the black top 1.8 head has smaller combustion chamber than the black top 2 litre

urrm seems a few issues to be addressed lol, whats a zetec turbo compression ratio meant to be using let pistons? cheers

think il use a 2.0 head to be on the safe side, anyone need a 1800 silver top head? lol
