no idea what kind of inflatey rib it was but it had a smallish outboard on, about 35-50 horse iirc.

the sound and torque is unreal, when flushing i have to make sure she is tied to the trailer as a good blip on the throttle see's her try to jump off of it
pipes come straight off the headers straight out the back well above the water line.......so the noise is incredible......sounds like a WW2 spitfire on a hard bank when she is planing

i have had her up to 65 knots on a lake....but she did feel like she was getting away from me to be fair i.e hull was flexing and she was very skitish), she is deep v'd so is excellent handling especially if its getting choppy, the only time your really notice the weight is when getting her in and out the water
unfortunatly no vids as yet, and i am not taking her out again this year as its too damn cold lol

Basically, when I bought it, it was twin petrol, which was fucking thirsty!
After a couple of years of unreliability, I took the plunge and ripped out the two petrol engines, and put in a spanking Volvo diesel turbo and supercharged engine.
30 - 35 knots max speed, which is still quite quick, but she will handle a seriously big sea for her size class. Don shead knew what he was doing
Also at the mo -diesel for the boat is about 50p a litre, which is ace
Has big big sunbed, which the wife and her mates love. I also love it because they lie on it in bikinis! Wifes friends are all in their 20s btw!

Good choice mate
That pretty much describes my boat! It has a small cabin with a table that folds down to make a bed, and also has a little sink with a running water system, and a small gas hob!
Sunseekers aint cheap, but they just work soooooo well! The Diesel was desperately expensive to do, but it was the unreliability of the petrols that put me over the edge rather than the actual fuel cost.
Piccie of cabin........
It also has ace cover that converts outside area into inside area! Ideal for staying on marinas etc overnight!

thats the only downer the cost of converting but i feel if the boat suits your needs then in the long run the enjoyment you gain is worth the expence

Hi matey
The boat lives in the summer on a swinging mooring on the River Exe - which is the south coast of Devon. One of the best things about where I live is the number of places to go on a good day.
For harbours, we have Exmouth locally (which is good for a piss up, but a lousy marina), but also Torquay, Dartmouth, Salcombe to name but a few. Add that to the various little bays etc around the area - honestly you wouldnt believe the options available to us!
If you are really brave, Guernsey is about 4 hours away!!! We were gonna do that this year, but the weather was just shit!
I am lucky that the boat has a trailer (woo hoo!!!!) which save a butt load of money. You dont get many boats of 24ft and longer with trailers, which is a godsend for me. This means that winter storage is greatly facilitated.
She is well suited to life on a mooring. I have to do my winterisation chores though - still much to do including wash, scrub the bottom, clean the engine and generally tidy the girl up!
Thought about selling her this year to buy a bigger boat, but I just cant quite bring myself to part with her - it is soooo reliable and the engine is nice and new.
Do I really want to go to older engines for the sake of more room? Not right now LOL

jj sounds to me like you have some of the best cruising areas to explore and you use your boat to its full i would say you right to stick with it as bigger you go more expensive it is to moor up and any bigger you buggered for towing behind a 4x4 safely
winter chores dont you just love them my dads is coming out in december and be nack in intime for easter we got a few jobs port engine has to be lifted and blocked at back so the gearbox can come of as needs a bearing and got general jobs ready for the easter weekend jolly

Hi Greg
I agree about the cost, though the boat I am looking at is rather larger that you would tow - I would be pretty much stuck with hoists! LOL. The biggest costs would be the maintenance of two engines over one, and of course older engines.
Hopefully the gearbox will be nice and straightforward.
Cant knock the location - it is all rather ideallic really - could do with the Mediteranian temperatures though!
As far as crossing the channel is concerned - I would be looking for ideal conditions only. My boat can deal with bigish weather (for class eg Force 5), but it aint comfortable!
Terry - Those subs are awsome looking things arent they!

Not mine but a good friends! Spend alot of time on it. Went to Cowes to watch the P1's in it this year. 26 foot Scarab powered by two 5.7 Mercury V8's. Sounds awesome!!!
Went in the Donzi in the foreground aswell (Sneaked into the pit area!!). This has just had it's single V8 engine rebuilt and now has a procharger fitted to it!!
Awesome weekend but if you think cars are expensive then don't get a boat! The scarab takes £450 to fill the tank up!
Here's my boat (I wish )
I have a video of this going flat out past us but cant get it to work!! The noise is unbelievable!
