Superb write up, thanks for posting. Definately gives Stu's a run for the money!

Loving the pics too especially the Carrera GT

Out of interest, how do you got with the 19's on track. Do you have fairly stiff springs to minimise roll/scrubbing?

I was just planning on use my stock 17's on mine with semi comps for the track and 18's for road but have seen 18's catch with the wrong off set even on stock ride height.

Did you actually read it ? The 19s were only used to get there and back, 18s were used on track .

I'll take that

100bhp @ wheels for the MX5 .

If you had come to the Ring when you were supposed to, you might have got a passenger lap like I did .

Some video footage of the white Skyline being harassed by a certain PB loon in an MX5 :

I was in the skyline when we saw the maz - he was havingt a lot of fun, but obviously was missing the power in the straights. My mate, Andrew who was driving was on about his third ever lap in that car in the skyline, so did okay on the whole.

I saw the Green GT3 that he was tustling with - enjoyed very much pissing past it in my shonky old Sierra (prior to early doors failure).

Most impressive about the mx5 was that the top of the drivers helmet was higher than both the screen and the roll cage - fuck that!

I thought that BMW M3 was wrapped - could be wrong tho - he posts on the Mtorque.com forums all the time. He has some G-meter drift box in it and regularly gets 100% from it at the ring.

He is the one that goes on about not needing anything but standard brakes etc.

Looks like a good trip - If u add up how much money you can also spend preparing ur car in advance for that trip and then add the cost of the trip itself it can be VERY scary.

Cheers

RW

Excellent write up Si, love the look of your car with the plate and 19's on it too!

Bet you never had much boot space with another set of tyres in there! We went to Le Mans this year in my mates Evo 8 MR FQ320, had the fucker filled to the brim with clothes and shit!

I'm hoping to go in Easter, can't wait!

I have some better ones of you traveling back.

And one to make you chuckle from Adenauer Forst of a Porsche getting it wrong on the Drew straight.

Great watching Sabine sliding through there from lock to lock, picture perfect everytime, great....

Yup still reading... one cup of coffe later

Sounds like you had a good trip!

Costs seem spot on to me: except for the amount of fuel used see why I don't convoy over with you lot? Even in the Scooby I managed to get from Newbury to the Ring on 1.5 tanks lol!

I can't wait to go next year... early in the year (not Easter as I really doubt it will be open that early) and then again in August for my 30th Bday!!

Fuel is a tad scary. Soon to be sorted now I have access to the right cable!

Cruise mapping deffo needs looking at, it does 22 ish mpg at 75, 85 or 95 mph!

Reminds me, must get my wideband plumbed in to the car

Phone's all good. Job for tomorrow when I have more time to think about it!
Still pondering over best courses of action. Fence needs a lot of work I'm keen to avoid at all costs!
