During the block being built up the face has got caught on cause some scratches. I know its hard to tell but do you think from the photo that it now needs decked and if so how much is it possible to take off the block before it is scrap?

Should be able to lightly polish them out mate.

finest wet and dry you can get your hands on, plenty of water and rub in ciruclar motions.

 

Get it decked - pocketed pistons, headwork and cams.
