I am hankering for one and got an eye on one...what they like?

not sure what they are like performance wise Phil,but i think they are ok cars to drive around in etc...

I have driven one and if im honest it was probs the best car i have ever driven

went like fook and yet drove like a rolls royce

my dad has an amg e55. he says its the best car he's ever owned. very smooth car to drive, and with 480bhp and 515lb ft it goes really well and pulls like a train. can do 0-155-0 in less than a mile.

 

a lot better than your old one

 

as above miles better than the non supercharged very very quick and yet so cumfy should have 3 stage suspension.

taken a drop due to the cls 55 so bargains about 35k

In a straight line they're ballistic (Harvey has a dersticted SL55 AMG, and he has seen the double tonne on GPS ), not really a car for hussling round twisty roads though....

 

I was suprised at how much they still are!! For some reason I think of it as an old shape and thus an old car, but obviously there not.

 

...seen them for 26k upwards.

Have driven one but preferred an Audi RS6.

Great car tho, just liked the feel of the Audi over the Merc. The Merc was very quiet and very fast but is something you waft along in but make great progress. Not one for overloading the senses.

All that said, its a better looker than the RS6, IMHO.
