Default probs probs..update 19/10 read

got in last nite and oil is in my boost pipes..so to day i got up at 8 ...started to take all boost pipes off and cleaned them all out .started putting them back and i took the cam cover off just to check if every think was ok. put all back to gether and wat happens the car wont tick over the idal screw on the throtle body isant doing jack shit .the revs go hi and some times it stays a live but ticking over at 1500 revs but when driveing it feels like the revs are taking its time to drop down...plus theres stiil oil in my boost pipes and coming out of my dump valve....and the car wont start as i need to use jump leads but my bat has loads of power as the lights are bright....plz help lads as my missis stop me from hitting it with a hammer to day ...av bin told that i mite have an air leak and me turbo mite need a rebuild as theres oil in my boost pipes
any one who knows wat these probs can be plz help as its going to my head at this point

check all your pipes

if a boost pipe has come off somewhere then the car wont run

but sounds like you have a air leak somewhere

oil in boost pipes is generally down to breather system as it recirculates backinto metering unti and turo sucks it up

hence you have oil in pipes and coming out of dumpvalve

get a breather system sorted and block the breather hole up on metering unit, this will stop the oil recirculatin and go to atmosphere instead

to check vac pipes etc, get a can of brake cleaner while engine is running and spray on all hoses and joints, if the car picks up or lowers9carnt remember which) then you have found a leak

also do a compression check

just bin looking at my ajustable cam pully i used a standed pully to mark my ajustable one as it had no marking for the timing it looks like its out by 2 tooth can this cause my car to miss on high boost? am getting it on the rollings next week ...or does any no a easy way to set a cam its a high lift cam with a ajustabe pully? thanks

2 teeth out,that could be valve clip land u need a dial gauge to set a vernier pulley up involves taking the rocker cover off etc but yes could a will cause running problems

but then again u have only done the cam cover gaket etc aint u?did not touch the pulley?was it all ok before u done the cam cover??

well the car tic over ok but i took all the boost pipes off and the cam cover gaskit then it started to cut out ......but the car bin under power since i put the car on the rd...but i stil dont no y the car is missing on high boost the ecu stays it has a motorsport chip ..i no the car needs setting up but i need it ticking over before i can take it to carnforth to put it on the rollers...also so am getting a better breathing bottle i think its a bailys and the lad said he blocked his pipe off where the breather goes to the metering head .......

a tooth out will cause problems

you need to sort that out asap

hi changed my rocker cover to day and they was a rip in my main turbo pipe and after fixing the pipe the car ticks over now so i just hope it stays like that but i still need to sort out y theres oil in my boost pipes...thanks for all the help lads

once you sort thr breather out and block the metring unti then ill be surprised if theres oil in the boost pipes after

at least you found 1 problem and sorted it, now sort the cam belt out

just phoned teg sport and they said they cant set my car up on the rollers as they only do imprezas so i need to find some on ....thanks mate also does any no any one close to cumbria to set my car ..cam and fueling .....

just bin out and my car is ok running 17psi now not missing but back fires flames when i change gear at high revs is that norm...
