Make sure your on time. You don,t want 3 of you turning up at the same time for the interview.

Save that till your a driver.

be yourself

if you haven't worked in the public sector before (public meaning working with imbiciles who get on the buses) you'll be a bit lost as to what to say, but experience is what counts here

you'll get all osrts of difficult situations but remember that it's the real world out there so if someone gets on the bus in the pissing rain and doesn't fold up the buggy you have to decide if they need to collapse it first or risk it blocking the emergency exits in the case of an accident when you need to clear the bus

it's been a while since i had an interview (about 8 years) for the buses so things may have changed but they want to see confidence in the interview

have you already done the pratical side of things like the driving assesmenment? that'll carry more wieght with the company if you can see that you can handle a bus

and good luck

For the drivers here...
Has anyone ever pressed the emergency engine cut switch outside a bus? Always wanted to press it!

yes
or you can always open the rear panel and it does the same thing

or it used to anyway

or open the rear doors and watch the handbrake stick on

or, on a routemaster, unscrew one of the bulbs, put a 2p peice in there, screw it back on again and turn the lights on and it blows every bulbs on the bus

or, again on the routemaster, leave it in gear for long enoug in traffic and watch the gearbox oil heat up the lead plugs and piss fluid everywhere (or, if it's not had the trque converter modded, wait till that blows up )

there are loads of tricks, but these are the easy ones

yes- but I aint a driver.. we used to stand at the bus stop outside my house and do it to every single decker....

Sometimes we'd keep pushing the button on the same bus.

Eventually the driver would start the bus in reverse to scare us.

Don't even bother going if you value your health and enjoy life.

I wouldn't go back to doing that cunting shit job for Ł1000 a shift - absolute fucking nightmare of a job which resulted in a near nervous breakdown for me

basic week
average overtime per week
public holiday working
weekend working
still 7 on and 2 off with a long weekend after a few weeks?
early or late shift prefered?
earliest start time?
latest finish time?
etc?

my mate bought a coach for Ł100000, finance is Ł350 a week, he gets Ł1200 a week from a local firm subbing and does old biddys trips Mon to Fri - he gets a bit of extra diesel money by running the odd day tour once hes there.
