the roof skin was one of the very few panels that was a carry over part from the normal escort,
yes the floor pan is 'based' on a sierra, albeit a shortened one, the door skins, and roof were the same though,

They are a lot stronger than people think.......i had them made up in Autoclaved Pre Preg Carbon which is mega expensive(same method as F1 parts)but makes for a very strong and excellent finish component.......
I did have some extruded alloy stiffeners made up for a couple of track car boys which were bolted to the remaining steel perimeter and then bonded to the roof skin....they looked and felt every bit as good as a CSL item.....
