In the Forest Of Dean they scoop them up and eat them.
The people, not the foxes.
But the children smoke pipes and the women wear dresses made of wood.
Its like a real life Phones4u advert.

Foxes, deers, fowl rabbits, etc will all eat them, most are just run over a bit more so disappear on cars wheels etc.
Deer are normally only plant eaters, but will and do eat other dead animals, there are also black cats about in some areas, and loads of wild cats in scotland.

RS specialist,
I am not going to get in an argument either, but your quliafications don't impress at all I'm afraid, they may even be the newer much watered down ones for all I know.
I have worked with many qualified people over the years a lot straight of of uni, but put them on practical skills and they are like kids, just got the papers.

you obviously have no idea what the level 1 and 2 qualifications is about out of the whole country there is just over 2000 people who have gained level 2 and this is need to manage deer on all the forestry commision land,I thought you would have known this if you have worked for them
as i say deer dont eat meat there teeth are not capable to cope with it for starters

Just out of pure interest Tabatha what job did you exactly do for the commision as you couldnt have been a ranger as you would have known a bit more about deer

I work for the local Highways department and the council will remove dead animals if they're on the carriageway.
A while back one council got into trouble as they used the dead animal bags to tempoararily cover some road signs

here you go Tabatha, you really need to read up on a subject you know nothing about
Food & Feeding: Deer are omnivorous opportunists and will feed catholically on grasses, heather, lichen, shoots, bark, leaves, herbs, rushes, buds, nuts, fungi, fruit and berries and even holly and bramble. The type of food consumed depends largely on location and season. For example, grasses, sedges and rushes comprise the bulk of a Red deers summer diet, whilst shrubs are staple during the winter. Fallow deer will also switch to eating bark during the winter months, whilst Roe deer will eat twiggy litter if conditions become harsh. Similarly, Fallow deer in the New Forest (UK) will feed primarily on heather in the winter, with acorns and other fruits featuring heavily in their diet in the autumn. A study in the journal Mammalia by a group of French scientists found that only six plant items comprised 80 to 90% of the rumen contents of Roe deer, with bramble and honeysuckle present year round. The study also found that the deer switched to eating evergreen plants (e.g. heather and ivy) and some grasses in the autumn and winter, preferring herbs, young leaves and buds of trees (hawthorn, oak and hornbeam) in the spring and summer. Some differences were observed in the way males and females exploited the resources, an observation the scientists put down to differing energy requirements and behavioural patterns. A study by a team at the University of Turin in Italy found that Roe deer in the western Alps had a very variable diet, feeding primarily on dicotyledons (especially herbs and rockrose). Of the monocotyledons, the deer favoured daisies and herbaceous grasses, confirming the Roe deers behaviour in selecting food of higher nutritional value.
