Default laptop prob i think....

recently while browsing the processor just starts going flatout for ages at a time nearly locking itself.

done spyware and antivirus, emptied tem files,recycle bin etc, shut all windows down and no difference, task manager shows no programs running that shouldnt, any ideas??doesnt do it all the time either just getting worse

i had something similar myself....seems to be ok now though.

try this when it happens though ;

in task manager..

go to processes and find EXPLORER.EXE.....(not iexplore.exe!!), end this process and you'll notice the taskbar disappear.

then, still in task manager...go to File>new task(run) and type EXPLORER and click ok.


may or may not work lol....but it's worth a go

its either that or an svchost.exe running at 99%.

This is probably due to a dodgy update issued by microsoft.

have come across it various times at work. I have a fix, just not here.
