ok.

insurance companies may decide not to insure a particular price of car due to them having a history of having claims paid out on them.

If you as an insurance company insure 50 M3's, and 46 of them get written off and claimed for, thats one hell of a loss.

therefore it doesnt make economic sense to offer insurance on them.

also, im sure Greenlight would insure them, but their under writers will be the ones setting the guidelines.

Ultiamtely. You'll find a lot of the "mainstream" Insurers dont touch M3's of ANY age. Strange that they will happily cover Cosworths though. I imagine virtually no Cosworths have EVER been stolen though.

If you are getting bit stuck get hold of a BMW magazine and look in there.

My M3 Evo E36 is £525 fully comp through Bell direct, i'm 37yrs with full no claims, my modified saph & 3dr used to cost just under £600 through demon tweeks ins but they don't insure M3's either, i've been with Bell direct for years with my main family car so no probs insuring an M3 with them, you can get a quote on line with them, www.belldirect.co.uk.

I've only had it a few weeks but got more money already as not spending on it like i would a Cossie & yes its had a recent Vanos unit before i bought it

Cheers Simon.

as said before, greenlight can't do about 5 diff. models of cars, one of which is the E36 M3

it's purely because you people (like me) buy them cheap and crash them into lampposts

i'm paying 1300quid FC with adrian flux, and WISH i was with greenlight again

iroincally i found it alot easier to insure an E46 M3 than it was to insure a cosworth.

i had to seriously hunt around for someone that would insure me on a 3dr, but pretty much anyone would insure me on an m3.

In the end my final quote for the m3 was £800 including the mrs on the policy.

Most of the cosworth quotes i got were 800-900, in the end i got it for 515 through diamond

I sell parts for them @ work (Eurocarparts), and as soon as we hear the word 'M3' on the phone, we know its gonna be good money in it.

Every E36 M3 iv had to deal with @ work has needed at least a bumper because (i swear on my life its ALWAYS this exact phrase) ''I lost the back end and ended up in a field''

Its so common up ere that as soon as they mention the model il ask if its been in a field.

Lots of drivers who think they are better than they are, and a few who realise they just ran out of talent (not many admit that tho)

My brother said EXACTLY that when he rung me to `borrow the 4x4 for 5 mins...`

Insuring E36 M3`s tho, try www.elephant.co.uk . They insured both of mine...

Jim - that's an absolute bloody fortune!

I'm insured on my MR2 Turbo, fully comp, in a London postcode, and bearing in mind it's a Jap import as well, and it's less than £500!

You want to phone around and get that sorted out as soon as possible.
