Default anyone any good with visual basic?

a friend of mine is having a little trouble, he wants to program a rectangle to move on the screen from a serial input!

anyone be able to help?

Which half of that problem is giving him the trouble, reading the serial input or moving the rectangle?

What API is he using to chat to the serial port in the first place?

has he got a proper hardware serial port, or a usb converter?

I suggest he does some "google programming" as i call it and start searching the web.

Visual basic 6 from memory should be capable of doing it but I know I could do it with C# (or VB.NET if I really had to).

Personally I would go down the .NET route there is so much stuff on the net you can almost program by numbers with a bit of google searching.

im not really sure where he's getting a problem,. but if someone would speak to him, he would be well happy
