Default Our nurbergring trip 29-30 september

Left home at 4am saturday morning, down to stevenage to meet terry at junction 7 onthe A1 4.15 then to south mimms to meet pete in the third impearial blue escort cos, left mimms at 5 oclock for our run down to dover in apauling weather, got on the 7.35 ferry. arrived in france still no let up in the weather, then we started our long drive through france, belguim, luxemburg, then to germany, first feul stop in belguim

after the first stop the weather stated to improve and the fun of driveing our cars started

then the road surface changed to nice smooth tarmac so we all put our foot down to some nice high speed cruiseing between 100 to 140 for 10miles or so. then petes cossie developed a misfire so we pulled over

then a few miles further on the dreaded happened

the dame thing stopped and wouldent go, we cleaned the grank sensor but sadly no joy, our trip organizer was on his way home.

me and terry waited with pete till we was sure he was not stranded and help was on its way before we stated our journey with out him.pete was our leader as he has plenty of experiance driving abroad, so i set my sat nav and we began, had a quick peep under the bonnett to make sure all was well.

by this time the weather stated to get worse again, then the sat nav gave up due to the bad weather, so the map came out, the trip we looked forward to was slowly turning into a nightmear, and it stated to get dark and we were still 50km away from nurburg.
then our luck changed and we saw a sign to nurburgring, we arrived about 7.30 tired and hungry. we checked into our rooms and down to dinner it was

we had dinner and a few drinks befour going to bed.
up at 7 on sunday, drove down to the ring (about 500yards) after breakfast, then we waited fot the track to open,it opened about nine so after the queues we down we hit the track for a few laps.

after our track time we found the souviner shop and bought some goodies
the it was time for our jouney back to catch the 5.30 ferry back to dover. this was a slow drive as terrys cossie started to play up,(cutting out ,misfireing)we made it with just 10 mins to spear,
then on the way home terrys car cut out just as we came out of dartford tunnel you can emagine the caos that caused.
i got home about 10 o clock sunday evening,
what an experiance nearly a thousand miles in less than 48 hours.
but a very worth while one, we will be going back next year but it will be a three or four day trip, with a lot more time at the ring

Cool read Dave

I'm off there next weekend with JJ, Silverfox999 and Chip plus Phil2400. Really looking forward to it, but reading about Pete's short visit then Terry's car issues reminds me why I'll be going over in my Evo this time not my Cossie.

Cheers
Si

Thanks for that steve, the money that its had this year it should run for ever without problem.

Dont think I told you on the way home from the isle of white i got within Half a mile of my house and the gear lever came out in my hand.
So i whipped it round to A1 first thing monday, and they sorted it.
