Default XS POWER TURBOS IVE USED ONE ANYONE ELSE ?

just wanted to put this post in about xs power turbos. the only one ive used is a to4e very similar to a t35 and i can honestly say it was just as good as a t35. i ran holding 22 psi for over 3000 miles on my old cossie and it was still good when i traded it to paul. and it got used hard aswell. keep reading people saying there shit.

has anyone actually had one fail on them after fuck all miles ?

Plenty of horror stories all over the 'net. Wish I could find the pics of the turbo compressor cover that was held together with Epoxy glue.

new generation units are very very good, know of a few issues that arise butalso seen from garrett, kkk and alike but becoming a serious manufacturer. Old equipment was nothing short of useless in many cases. Compressor cover that christian is mentioning was a 2 part casting glued together which had tendancies to fall apart. other issues with inferior materials etc but seem to have learnt mainly.

XS powers problem has always been releasing a product not developed enough to sell imho.

Personally, I wouldn't take the risk, knowing that a failed turbo could take your whole engine with it.

Gamble with as much as you can afford to lose IMO.

I've spoken about this with a friend before and tried to fathom why they were so cheap and whether it was justifiable to pay the extra to get a Garrett unit.

It seems, from what I have read on the net about them, that when they first came on the market, they were using very cheap poor quality materials and craftmanship was to a budget as well thus resulting in many failures.

But now I think they have got their act together as many have said and started to stop cutting corners.

I'm going to pose a question: would you rather buy a very solid second hand Garrett, or a new XS Power turbo?
