Not good Martin
That was Adam Moran He had a very lucky escape - it certainly put me off doing top speed in my FRS next year & Martins post here has pretty much put me off altogether now

After all the work that has gone into Martin's car this is just gutting reading this post tbh

Shitting hell Martin. Echoing what everyone else has said, thank god you walked away from it.

I'm certainly getting more and more nervous, especially with the Eagle GS-D3 horror-stories.

I reckon one more top speed attempt from me, then thats it!!

Top speed runs are, in my opinion, totally pointless and highly dangerous....

At least martin has a good roll cage in his car, imagine something going wrong in rapidcossie or rods cars with NO cages at all..... FUCK THAT.

Get them on track and set some times where skill is involved and not who can hold it flat out for longest.

The "brunters surface" thing always confuses me, i dont see it as bad.
Its no snooker table smooth race track, but where is?

No point slating surfaces unless we know that either aformentioned accidents was due to it.

Fookin hell... you really are not having much luck Martin! as you say, it really makes you think 'is it worth it?'..
I hope the car is easily repaired back to the stunning standard it was/is..
Well done for keping control...

Would be good to see some pics of the car and how it withstood something like this!

Seriously though, glad Martin is OK it could have been far worse at that Speed.
Driving fast cars carry a risk im aware of that more than most im sure if a reason for this is found Martin will let us all know. Martin climbed back in his car after his last crash & wants to do that event again & im sure in time he will attempt another Topspeed run in his car.

What type and rating of tyre was it? I wouldnt trust things like R888, A048s etc as they usually have much lower ratings - some only 150mph when i last bought them. Would have more trust in something like P zeros that are OE tyres for ferraris etc and are rated to do the job.

without pics i can't even imagine what it looks like, but benting the foor too

glad it didn't end up like the focus, they said the guy ended up in hospital

talking of the surface at brunters, how do the other places stand if you were thinking of moving the venue? there can't be many and they would all probably have the same construction as the surface at brunters woldn't they? being old disuase air base type places.....

I wouldn't use those D02's for Top Speed. As Dumped said, needs to be a tyre that is rated plenty high enough. D02's are a trackday tyre?

I can just imagine the heat buildup, starting with a 4-wheel wheelspin then pullnig for 1.5 miles or more after that.
