gaz, you drive a 1.3 endura powered fiesta, ib5 box, 200bhp safe, as its the tourque that kills them, you wont even get close mate

depends entirely how you drive, you will find people on here that have 400+bhp with no problem, and you will also find poeple that brake em with 300bhp week in week out

Also depends on the engine spec. 400bhp on a T4 will be a lot easyer on box and diff than 400 bhp on a T34 with big boost spike.

I just picked up a standard box the other night Pete for mullit treatment in a few months, but im running a semi straightcut justnow so should be fine anyway.

my stage 3 saff box has lasted the life of the car

(though i rarely drive it, and take it easy, esp in third )

My last engine produced 394bhp and 507nm @ 4400rpm and had totazlly std transmision, worked fine undtil i was on some sideways action in the rain and suddenly got traction...... there went the gearbox.
But would say 375 bhp on std gearbox and 500+ on std diff`s no problem, just dont go the sinter-plate way, that kills the diffs
