Colin McRae shows off his car collection (cossie included)
Someone sent me this on a DVD this morning so I thought I'd share it
It's Colin McRae showing off his collection of cars and bikes to John Desborough. That offroad kart looks like fun I didn't know he had the 3 door cossie I hope it still gets restored.

His Mk2 is unbelievable, no expense spared although rumour had it that the IRS didn't work as well as expected.
Certainly looks VERY impressive in any videos I have seen of it
Although a Skoda on 3 cylinders would of looked impressive with Colin McRae driving

Yeah his mk2 is a right toy.Had the chance to see it up close and personal on one of the rallys. The work that gone in to it is unbelievable
Certinaly got the best of everything on it. I wouldnt like to see what he actualy spent on it.
Think they had a lot off trouble with the rear diff IIRC
The 2.5 millington engine has some bark to it

i knew his 22b was special as it was up for sale for 100k not long ago but didn't know it was one of the prototypes.
hes also what this site is all about really.he could have chosen any rally car for himself but he wanted to do it in an old ford
everyone knew he wasn't quite right but that confirms it

I know there was one for sale in ireland a white one that had same engine and gear box in it.Think it was craig bennet that had it for sale. I will have a hunt for the fast ford mag that they featured mcraes car in.
This is a quote from the man himself when he done the manx in it
“It was still damp on Saturday morning, but the stages were drying. The best stage for me was Tholt-y-Will. It’s a very fast stage, mostly 5th and 6th gear, with only a couple of hairpins,” McRae said on his website.
“That meant we didn’t lose out as much to the 4WD machines. They really score on the twisty stages where exit speed from corners is much greater than a 2WD car. So we were only 1.2 seconds behind Kenny McKinstry in the WRC Impreza - the Escort was working well in there!
McRae in typical pose on the Manx Rally“If that was my best stage, Campbell’s (his co-driver) was possibly stage 12, although he got a bit nervous when I started looking for 7th gear. The Escort is geared for 139 mph in 6th and it was on the rev limiter at times, but it only has 6 gears - I could really have done with a 7th gear!” McRae said
