Taxing a car......

Is it still possible to tax a car for the following month a day or two early?

Today being the 29th and Monday being the 1st, can I tax for October? Or are they stupidly strict now?

You can tax it 2 weeks before it's due.

As per Redkop - but only if the vehicle is taxed already and is about to expire

Even if it's not already taxed you'll be able to do it today and start from next month. They give 2 working days grace.

They'll probably ask you if you'll be using the car before, which of course you wouldn't be
