Default Battery Help- Diesel on petrol

Basically i ran my battery flat last night, went for a big crusie to london and back . Then went to start it this morning and the battery is flat. So obviouslly the battery is fecked.

So i need a new one but as my battery is in the boot, due to under bonnet space and i have a high comp engine , the starter is gonna need as much juice as possible . So can i fit a big bastard diesel battery to it. Will this be dangerous in anyway (like wire meting) and will my alternator charge it alright? also will actually give any benefit?

cheers for any help , need some quick answers really so that i can go get a battery at lunch .

You have misconseption (spell) of what a diesel battery is , No such thing..
You are tallking about a higher output battery, there all 12 volt's just different amp, and amp hour rattings, so you dont need to put a bigger size battery in, just one with more power rating should be ok.. Unless your running loads of ice too.. in which case a higher output alternator should be priority ..
Hope this helps without getting to techy..

yea im aware a diesel is still 12 volts but it has more amps doesnt it? and the more amps the better for the starter right?

I do have a fair bit of ice aswell, 2 x 12's, rockford amp, components, 6x9's, alpine headunit and changer.

anyways ive just got a transit diesel battery which id the largest you can get apperntly

Fitted the transit diesel battery and she fired stright up and nothing has melted yet. Hopefully this will solve some of my starting problems ive been having. Also noticed that is now charging the battery at 13.9v rather then the 13.4 it was before so i dunno if that means my old battery wasnt charging properly for awhile.
