Default pedal box brake bias bar spares

I have a pedal box on my cosworth that has a sloppy feel as the bias bar through the middle has no washers on the bearing to hold it central.
Does anybody have a couple of the washers that I can fit or shall I get a pair fabricated?

hello, no the circlips are there, where the adjustable threaded bar bearing goes through the brake pedal housing I have no washers at either end to stop the bar twisting back and forward, I have no pics on this PC to post up but have seen them on ther boxs.
If anybody has a close up of one??

How do you mean Mark? You know the bar is supposed to be able to twist?

How's it coming along by the way?

Anything like the Elise one we do ?

The balance bar fits the housing with no washers.

Very similar Tony.

Not sure what's up Mark? The bar is held in place by the two piston rods on the master cylinders - just get them straight, so that everything is perpendicular.

The bar will find its centre in the tube in the pedal, and the threaded bar will still be able to turn, as you can fit a dash mounted adjuster on the end to be able to vary the balance whilst on the move.

i just uses M8 penny washers from halfords.

just to stop the edge of the bit that screws to the piston catching in the bearing housing

Dan - that setup has the tube the exact distance to allow both piston rods to sit straight.

Not strictly necessary, but that one is purpose built, where Mark's is a modified Cossie box from a rally car....

Hi guys thanks for the replies, my threaded bar looks just like the Elise one "Nuts Rus" posted up, but looks wrong- I have seen a similar box to mine with spacer washers on similar to Dans modded item, Im sure it will work well with fluid in but at the minute there rear comes on then the fronts then the rears come off and the whole thing isnt quite what I want.

I will try it all with fluid in but think a box change will be on the cards when the clutch needs changing for a hyd version

Mark - I was gonna do that as well.

I spoke to Martin Hadland a few years back, and he could modify the firewall, and fit a 3 master cylinder bias box, as I wanted hydraulic clutch.

Have you adjusted the lengths of the pushrods when the system is filled with fluid ?

IM ONLINE AGAIN, WOO HOO!!

I will post some pics up as soon as possible, sorted a couple of things out with the brakes and clutch. I stripped the box, took a look and it turns out the Rear master cyl is sloppy and doesnt have a spring return like the front one so as the brakes are pushed the resistance is different so the bias bar rolls around funny. the rear is a .75 Girling and the front a .70 I think, I take it the cyls should both be sprung?
