Default Search option on Passionford...

Is it me or is the Search option on Passionford shit?

When you enter a word like ' JMC ' to search for, I dont get any results and I just read a posting that clearly had JMC written in it...

they might as well just remove it, its a complete waste of space.
blamed on such a huge database and overhead on the server would be too much, fuck knows how the other forums manage it then

I'm amazed by Google's search facility. If you go into Google.com and search for something, Passionford results can and do come up quite high.

For example, search for 'DEI Heatproofing', even without restricting to UK results and the first result returned is my thread on here that I posted on September 11th, 2 weeks ago.

Only because someone spelt heatproofing as one word when it should be two
so yeah, it is ranked high because no one else has spelt it wrong

just put heatproofing and its the 3rd hit, just goes to show you are ranked very highly in the illiterate stakes

Whats the point of keeping a large database of threads if the search function doesn't work, why not purge the database and put the original phpBB search function back

Indeed it is: I searched yesterday for "quick rack" and found 1 topic on something unrelated. I know for a fact there's at least 1 topic on it as I started it.
