I know theres a few people on here from wales soooo, basicly i'm going up to cardiff next weekend to see cascada at cardiff uni, planning on staying at a travel-lodge in cardiff for a few nights.

any reccomedations what to do/go/see whilst there? is travel lodge ok place to stay? anywhere better i should be looking?

Their is a travel lodge above walkabout in town centre so good location. Or a big sleep few hundred yards from their.

To be honest their isnt that much to do, good shopping
Cardiff Uni is full of fit birds, I miss it

You can go to the doctor who museum down the bay

The one above walkabout is good as you wont have far to walk at the end of the night and is probable the cheapest in that area of town

go bowling in parc tawe in swansea!

you go at 9 pay Ł8 per person and play as much games as you like lol.

yeah? at Ł100 a night it must be a nice area of town i guess? [am a bit concerned as it doesn't have a car-park you see]

what are we into? well music, bars, clubs something nice and lively! shopping in the daytime i expect aswell?

Have you tried The big Sleep. The marriot is by their as well, although the carpark was being rebuilt last time I was in Cardiff, so Gareth or Rhys will know Pubs and clubs all in that area

if you brniging a car, dont use the travel lodge above walkabout use the big sleep or novotel cardiff central

theres loads of nice hotels within a short taxi ride from the center

as for pubs/clubs/shopping,,, theres loads in cardiff, you wont get bored!

Yeah stay at Hilton imo. By the time you cost parking (which is mega bucks in Cardiff) the Travel lodge above Walkabouts is mega expensive.

Loads to do, especially if you like pubs/clubs

Avoid the travel lodge above Walkabout at all costs - its the noisiest part of town.

Guy I know booked in there for a Sat night, got in at 3am and it was still bouncing below, he gave up trying to sleep at 6am, booked out, walked to the station and got the first train home.

St Davids Hotel is a good spot, 5 star and not to far from town and a nice chill out the following day in the spa while you do a bit of celeb spotting.

Usually good deals on the net for it.

or you could try the parachute club

st davids is real nice, and if you can get a good price, this is where i would stay

a two minute walk, and your in mermaid quay, a couple of bars and restaurants! the nicest place in cardiff just to have an afternoon drink!

give the wales tourist board a ring they are pretty good at finding vacancies in guest houses etc for you

Have you tried Holland House Hotel - might be a bit pricey though

travel inn's are normally clean and tidy,, that ones a very short taxi ride away! you could walk it if you knew the way about a mile from the uni

stupid question though, can you turn up any time you like? i.e. once checked in will it be ok to return at like 1am or will they shut the doors at 11pm or something? never stayed at a travel inn before!
