Will a 255 width tyre go on ok on a 8" rim?

No mate I doubt it - think it would be 'over-tyred' - it goes ok on a 8.5" rim as Mike R says - I've got them on the rear of the Bora & new BMW 300series run them on 8.5" rears also!!

I've decided i'm gonna go for a new set of wheels rather then risk putting a 255 tyre on the wheels I've got. just got to find £1500 from somewhere to buy em!
