asking for a friend,
He has been offered a cheap R5 turbo, mechanicaly sound etc...
at a very cheap price, but his mate is keeping the body kit off the car, ie arches etc,
Where can he get replacement arches? and what cost? does not matter if they are cheapie fibreglass replicas etc.
And also replacement graphics that go along the bottem of the doors?
Also what normally goes on R5's??

head gaskets and turbos! Dont over do the boost keep it simple. Nice head bit of porting and polishing. Run about 12psi. Cam it, but its in the block, and it will go well. O and perc fans play up can stay on and drain batteries. Had many mates had 5 and they are a great car but you have to treat them so well. And gearboxes can go aswell as clutch. But very cheap to repair compared to some fords and high powered jap crap.

hahah look out for as said above ,turbo,s head gaskets. bin the anti perc fan alltogether as common fault as stated that they got stuck on then burst into flames
seen this happen to two r5 gt by me on the plus side i have all the bits that wernt incinerated in my garage
also make sure coolant system is spot on ie no airlocks, leaky jubilee clips and brittle hoses (gets v hot under the small engine bay )
invest in a copper core rad and low temp fan switch ,also helps to have override switch for the fans when stuck in traffic
i have a phase 1 i have owned for the last 9 yrs people say they are unreliable but if looked after are ok
mine runs 24 psi not sure of power but melts clutches in 2 days (uprated grp a volvo 480 turbo jobbie)and eats boxes in the same amount of time
but just cant help myself lmao
quite like mine lol good fun but dont ever want to have accident in one as metal is tissue thin sneeze at it ,it dents lol
get it caged up if your gonna hurt it lol
