TIG WELDER QUESTION

Whilst on the subject of TIG...
Can anyone recommend where to start to learn how to TIG Aluminium? I've got next to nothing experience with welding anything, but i'd love to be able to fabricate my own bits and bobs for the car. I don't want to go out and spend thousands on a TIG inverter only to not be able to use it!
Thanks..

Welding alloys is a piece of piss when you know how.
Unless it is a very beefy set forget it as they dissipate heat so quick you need to throw loads of power at alloys to fuse.
The main problem is that you don't see a weld pool, unlike steel etc, it is just green all the time you just notice it is getting lumpier/bigger.
The gas you use does indeed depend on which type of alloy etc you are welding, but argoshield is a excellent all round one and suitable for most.
Is it a manual only or does it have auto mode(nearly all do) ie does it have a manual foot pedal ?
Co-ordintation is the key, especially with manual as you have to mix eyes, both hands, and one foot all at the same time.
Be careful about stabbing filler rod against the torches tungsten bit as you will get a whollop, and it can give you a shock literally.
