I dunno I've seen a few Transits in Luton and half of them look like their drivers don't have a lisence

As long as it's under 3500kgs which not all of them are!

Newer licenses are limited to 3500kg, but older ones have a limit of 7500kg, as stated on my license, these are max weights loaded.
I think but am not sure by any means that the new regs came in around 99, but do not apply retrospectively so before that you are ok up to 7.5T.

if it has the twin wheeled rear its almost deffo over. another thing to check, if its got a tacho fitted it could be over.

easiest way is to check the plate

90% sure you will be fine mate, doubt it will be over 3500 even if twin wheels, but as above check the plated weight, it will have a plaque on the inside.

all transit lutons are twin wheeled and they dont do a luton van above 3500 so youre ok whatever you drive,be it mercedes or volkswagon etc

I would have to beg to differ. Rare but are avaliable which is why I said check.
