Default Glow in the dark paint anyone?! (video)

My mate Paul just been painting one of my mate Dans cars, but not just normal paint, glow in the dark paint

Never seen or heard of it in my life as a car paint before they said they was doing it, its fucking nuts!

Not fitted properly and not even totally finished painting yet, but they made this video to show it...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wJBqV3Hht8

Fuck the beginning off, just watch from 2mins 10sec onwards, especially 3mins 10sec onwards, the "light graffiti" bit

that carlton was never glow in the dark, it was just some lairy yellow, look at the vid, the paint is just normal pearl white in daylight, just its luminous so glows bright green in the dark after its been in the light.

I reckon as soon as the word gets out in a mag or something, that'll be the next "mod" to have.

Watch the goons flock to have their cars painted in it.

Could even do tiger stripes for the tasteless fuckers on here!

Paints been around for years, just nobody normally is mad enough to use it, costs 2grand for the paint alone, and like the funny paint they use on DynoRod vans etc, it dont last for ever.

But I reckon soon as some people see this car loadsa clowns will have it.

Stavros

iirc it said in the mag. you could go to a petrol station at night time..wait for it

the paint would take a boost. then you could drive off with the car GLOWING

it was only the lower half of the car but to write it off in 6 days

people saying about the paints been on other cars for ages, but its funny people saying that when ive worked for car mags for a few years and ive never seen it, and some of the team have worked for car mags for 20 years and theyve never seen it

also the fact that house of kolor who sell the stuff said they never sold any in the UK before (tho tis existed for a good few years)

i think people are thinking of fluorescent paint, thats VERY different to glow in the dark paint. thats always the same colour and dont exactly glow in the dark, this stuff just looks white normally, but glows like a bastard in the dark.

dont get me wrong, its been used on other stuff before, but this is 99.9% the first car in the UK with that crazy ass paint.

Coming from a paint industry background it's probably got heat activated chromate in the paint (at a guess)

Sure is fuckin cool though!

Hmmmmmmmm......See your point Gareth...

BUT....Chromate can be set up for sunlight and not heat...the recipe can be set-up so it's GOT to be charged to change the AV...

99% of the time chromate is dyed either yellow or green (for EHS issues)

Might ask someone at work today, gotta few people that might know

Hes had plenty of other cars, but SXs are fun!

Its in Cornwall, Boscastle, and Joycey was driving, he got skills.
Pauls mum had a go at me n him as we came in to Pauls driveway sideways at about 50mph on the handbrake later

You should be glad theres not smell-a-vision to go with that sick pic, it properly stank.

Are you fucking blind - the bonnet isn't painted ?

Also, the Max Poo Carlton was DEFINITELY painted with a small amount of the same paint, as I remember them saying how even that cost HUNDREDS and they said it did the same thing (as in ABSORB the light).
