It's not easy though. I'm still practising, but manage to land 9 out of 10 perfectly at the moment.

Thats the only thing im good at cooking TBH, my omelettes rock, but i still prefer to go buy em from the chinese.

I do neither flipping or ovening (good idea on the oven, never thought of that), i just cheat and cut it in to quarters, easy to turn over then!

I made my first 3 days ago, it was a fookin mess

I swear Delia Smith's how to cook book makes it harder than it should be, I was following it through fine, then all of a sudden she goes potty and says count to five, now do this, now quickly do this that and the other. im reading the fuckin book, balancing it over the hob, trying to flip the fucking pan, the lot went everywhere and by that stage i had no time to put anything else in it

tasted okay tho

I use a small pan, makes it alot easier. Thick Omlettes too.

I mix 2 eggs in a jug, then add Cheese, Onion, Mushroom and Tomato, plus a bit of Salt/Black Pepper. Then a couple of teaspoons of oil heated in the pan, then whack the Omlette mixture in. Once it's brown on the underside, even if it looks a little wet on the top, it's not too hard to flip. Practise over the sink first, it makes less mess!! I usually prod it as I'm cooking it to get rid of uncooked bits in the middle.

tell you whats a good look in an omelete, that mustard ham you buy for sarnies.

chop it into lil squares and let that fry in the pan for a coupla mins while you whisk the egg. frying it makes the mustard taste more noticable and really nice, nothing too extreme.
keep stirring it tho or theyl burn.

when you beat the egg and pour it into the pan, after a while the bottom will get cooked while the runny stuff is still on the top
so you lift the bottom of the thing up to let the runny stuff leak to the bottom where it will cook properly

when you now go to flip it over there will be no runny stuff to leak all over the floor, etc

Top thread

When the top is still runny, grate some parmeasan on it and shove the whole pan under a red hot grill. It rises up like a biatch and goes all fluffy, and browns on the higher spots
Keep an eye on it though

i'm not allowed to cook at my house, nor at the folks
my dad has a strict code of conduct as far as cooking and cleaning goes, that's womens work, they've been doing it for ages, they are used to it, and know how to do it better
so why waste time doing stuff that you will only fuck up

all this coming from an army chef
