Default clifford alarms

Are clifford alarms any good because ive heard that they can be very tempremental and go off at inconvinient times. I need to get a decent alarm to try and bring my insurance down (first quote ) and know a good cat 1 will bring it down and keep it safe. I would also like to have the facility for inteli-start

Any alarm is only as good as the fitting mate, ive had cliffords on most of my cars some good some bad. I got Stu@bsc to fit my last one as his work is second to none and good prices too and the alarm was 100% perfect

Cliffords seem very sensitive to installation.

To be honest though I wouldn't touch a Clifford with a very long barge pole. Can't wait to get rid of the CLifford from my Fiesta. Loads of toys on it to impress your mates but I want it to keep the car safe not show off with. Roll on the Toad/Sigma that's going in.

But then my brother swears by them so it's all a bit of personal preferance

ive got a clifford on the cossie one of the g4 types with remote start which is handy as you can leave the car runing after a thrashing and take the keys with you and it will switch its self off after a selected time which is pretty cool, ive never had a problem with it going off . . . but then maybe i should check to see if it actually works

I`ve a had a few, the only thing that bothered me was i found the buttons on the key fob were a bit too easy to press and would keep unlocking my car with the keys in my pocket. The amount of times i`ve come back to my car to find it unlocked!

Apart from that, the alarm was excellent.

they get a bad name becuase they are so tuneable. if its not set up right then they are shit. if they are set up prolerlly and put into vallet mode before disconneting the batt. they are pucka

Mine used to go off in heavy rain, not so funny when it wakes the whole street up!!

Had a toad alarm after on the S1, only issue was a sensor coming lose making the alarm with the bonet was opem, tightened it up and sorted.

As said, alot may be down to the installer, but if you don't know them, maybe not give you correct address, give your mums or misses, just incase they have a dodgy bega working there who may fancy your car rare but not unknown.
