Default cold air feeds. please give advice. thanks

hi, i have on my 1.6 zetec mk6 escort a universal cone air filter smacked straight onto the mass air flow sensor unit. the bottom of the air boz is still in place and the cone sits inside of it. (just) i have drilled the bottom out. but was wondering what is the best way to get a GOOD cold air feed to it?

no need it won't make the slightest bit of difference on that engine. Drop a 1.8 in there for a good increase.
