Brave move mate....

I outed mine. Made enough to pay for my little trip to Paris at weekend for Rugby

Fingers crossed for ya.
Well - I lost a little this morning as I did not predict they would go so low - Overall since I started this last week I am £50 down but if you include my current profit I am only £15 down. Only playing with £10 a point for a laugh - as they say only bet what you can afford to lose!!

Dannn exactly

i put £200 in my betting account and since 2 weeks i have been up and down. i am now £60 up, not a lot but it's free money

when i get £100, i will withdraw £100 and then when i get another £100 up i will withdraw that so that everything left in the account will be profit and then win or lose it doesn't matter

Well it looks like my little flutter is coming to an end.

Do or die with my last £60 notes tomorrow morning - lol and if I lose thats the end of it for me.

Man I can see why people fuck themselves with spread betting.

Even putting a "stop" on to protect yourself can be a bad thing as I experienced twice day. Only takes the market to jump up and down for a minute or so and hit your stop value and close your order automactically (to lose) just to see it bounce straight back up a 20 secs later......

TBH unless you REALLY know what you are doing, spread betting is very very dangerous to play, IMHO if you want a return for your money buy the shares low, ( well duh ) and wait it out for a few months. At 250p a share people were saying they couldn't see it going much lower, now look at them , might be worth just buying them and waiting to see what happens

must admit im tempted to buy £500 of shares to see what happens. Surely they cant go any lower??? Long term they can only go up especially if someone like HSBC does take them over?

Yes, that's very annoying, but you realise what a God-send it is when your stop loss has kicked in at the top of a cliff

The stock looks even more unstable given that no bids have been made by the large banks (HSBC, Barclays, etc.) and it's mostly private equity or a dodgy Spaniard who are trying to buy in...

Analysts have revised their forecasts down from profit next year to loss, and target prices by one broker were cut from 300p to 100p.

Not a great deal of room left now and it's on the floor!

He means, spend another £940 and buy more, you will then lower your "break even price"

Usually known as "averaging down". Can also be known as "throwing good money after bad!"

Example: If you buy 1000 shares at a pound each, they cost you £1000.

If the shares drop to £5 each and you buy another £1000 worth, you end up with 3000 shares for 2 grand. Your "average price" is no longer £10, but £6.66...... per share, so instead of being £5 a share down, you are only £1.66 down.

Hope this rambling makes sense!

If you buy 10 green apples at £1 each and the price of apples goes down to £0.50p you should buy 10 more apples @ 0.50p each ..making the 20 apples you know own worth 0.75p each

Anyone who has a decent amount of money to invest should look at investment funds with exposure to gold and gold mining stocks.

Gold is historically cheap (compared to 1980) and is a safe haven in a depressed market / economy.
