Default Cosworth engine too laggy?

How about a 3.0 V6 Duratec from a Noble?

What engines that turbo'd Mondeo engine in then?

I like the bracing etc to take the weight of the turbo, good work

Edit- I see above.

Edit2- Doubt its a "Noble" engine, just a built up turbo 3litre Ford V6 Duratec?

Stav,
No it is the Noble engine out of the M400, as production rights to this were sold to the US, and the guy who is helping with the conversion lives 15 mins away from the new factory .

Yes it is in an XR4Ti Merkur.

The M400 engine that this is based on was 425bhp....

However, despite it using this as the base, I would say it is not as much as that with the current set-up. As Stav has pointed out, it must be running relatively conservative boost with such a small intercooler.

They just used the M400 engine as a base due to it's stronger internals (specced by Rousch), as the first engine (a normal Duratec) lunched itself at 130mph at Watkin's Glen .

They are Twin Turbo, the later 'GTO 3R' was the one that made the power I believe, 362bhp I think!

Awesome engine and a cool car Mike!

Depending on your budget, I would imagine a comfortable 500-600bhp out of the M400 engine .

I don't think the blocks are modified for strength, just improved oil galleries. Rousch just spec an new crank, rods and pistons designed to take the increase in power.

6200 if your lucky, as the fuel cut starts there. And constant reving to 6000 will split the block. The BOB is a bit better as it has a stronger center to the block casting.
I have now changed to the BOB and will soon see it likes 2 turbos stuck on it

The above XR4Ti has a 3.0 duratec, the last time i heard it was still standard but with the turbo fitted. Although with a custom inlet.

The duratec can be fitted in to the sierra by using a Jag S-Type gearbox. The red one has an adapter plate to allow a Mustang T5 to be fitted.
